11 – 13.01.2018 – The first volunteer exchange under the project “Moving Borders for Volunteering” took place in Vidin with the participation of young people from the network of volunteer centres from Bulgaria and Serbia. In the period 02.10.2017 – 27.10.2017 in “Bratstvo 1869” Chitalishte was trained 16 volunteers at the Volunteer Club – Kyustendil within the framework of the project “Moving borders for volunteering”. The project is implemented under the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program Bulgaria – Serbia with the leading organization „Timok Youth Center”, Zajecar, Serbia and Free Youth Center, Vidin, Bulgaria.
The aim of the training was to prepare youth volunteers for the upcoming practical volunteering in social institutions in the town. Kyustendil.
For 40 hours the volunteers were trained in the topics – Essence of volunteering, European Solidarity Corps, European Voluntary Service, social volunteering, communication, Feelings and Emotions, etc.
They were conducted practical sessions and role-playing games to improve communication skills and problem solving skills, use of attention skills, empathy and aggregation in communicating with others people, improving listening skills, asking questions and counseling, etc.
At the end of the training was conducted exam test and awarded certificates for volunteering in the social sphere of young people who have successfully completed the training course.
On September 29, 2017, at Bratstvo 1869 Community Centre was held selection of the volunteers who will be involved in activities under the project “Moving borders for volunteering”. The project is implemented under the IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program Bulgaria – Serbia with the leading organization „Timok Youth Center”, Zajecar, Serbia and Free Youth Center, Vidin, Bulgaria.
6 volunteers aged 16-29 were selected on the basis of their interests, experience and motivation to participate in volunteer activities.
Within the project in Bratstvo 1869 Community Centre was created Volunteer Club, which will be a meeting place for volunteers and to conduct training and evaluation of their work.
Early in October, the training sessions of volunteers will be launched and will be trained on the themes of Essence of volunteering, European Solidarity Corps, European Voluntary Service, Social Volunteering, Communication, etc.
All young people who have successfully completed the training course will receive a certificate of volunteering in the social sphere.

In the last week of June, in particular from June 27th to July 2nd 2017, training for Volunteer Centers leaders in the border region was held in Belogradchik, Bulgaria.
During the training, 10 participants from 5 volunteer centers from the border region of Serbia and 10 participants from the 5 Volunteer Centers of the border region of Bulgaria had the opportunity to educate themselves in general about volunteering, selection and motivation of volunteers, volunteer supervision. The training also covered the topics of volunteer training, risk and unforeseen situations, as well as the annual cycle in working with volunteers. This was an ideal opportunity for participants to exchange experience in working with volunteers in Serbia and Bulgaria.Read More
